Chicago's Vietnam War Memorial
I'm not certain of the story, but the memorial is not cared for well. It is supposed to be a fountain (which is covered over), but one can pass by it and several plaques on the way down from Wacker Drive and then further down to the river, near the Wabash Avenue bridge. I took quite a few shots as I'm not sure when I'll be over that way again. The last photo I took from the 34th Floor of 35 East Wacker. Very easy to get around by holding an empty FedEx envelope...

Ten Days Difference

After having lunch with Greg, I took this shot of the river, just for the angles and the color. We had snow then, and we've had more since. These photos were from last week. That crap melted, more or less. Then over the last three nights, we have had wet snow come down, Tuesday I actually stopped shoveling when I got those chest pings again. Not really annoying snow, it tends to melt some during the day, so its not really accumulating. What is annoying? It's starting to snow right now, and this is the same system that was over Western New York State earlier Thursday morning. Go figure.

Drownded Rats & Condoms

Man, its 54 degrees outside. But its going to be in the 80s tomorrow and the 90s by the weekend. Chicago, the bipolar town. Here's photos from that kayak trip two weeks back. Starts out up near Addison and Rockwell. Because of the rains, the water was well above its normal level and there were quite a few drowned rats and maybe a few less condoms. I took more photos, but they were kind of dull. Still can't figure out what that boat was doing hanging over Division Street during rush hour, though.
