I call my notebooks commonplace books, because the late Karl Edward Wagner used that term. The college notebook doesn't really count, I just happened to have scanned photos. After thirty years, I still don't know why I never finished the sketch of my English prof, James Stronks. These photos go back a good ten years.

I use to carry notebooks with me and make notes on stories and poems but my handwriting is so bad I could seldom reread them later. I've always kind of wanted a commonplace book but haven't yet achieved it.
I've trimmed down, Charles. I'll scrawl in a steno notebook, spiral shit gets me because I'm a lefty. But, as you can see in the first photo, I've purchased a decent cp book, with a wrap around band. I'm very careful with that one when I transfer notes, and save only what is necessary. I also keep pages for story titles, character names, and several pages for dialogue I overhear.
