Found this great painting by the Hildebrandt Brothers over the weekend. Can't really add to it, they've done great work for decades now, and I know several artists, particularly Greg Horn, who cite them as inspiration. The best thing an artist or writer can hear, that they've passed something on to the next generation...

Oh, I love the Hildebrandt Bros, and that's a great one I don't remember ever seeing that. They've done tons of Tolkien illustrations too, and I often use their rendition of Goldberry for my avatar. Quite a couple of kooky guys as well, as one would expect fantasy artists of their caliber to be.

I've loved the Hildebrandt Brothers' work since my good, old AD&D days.

Weren't the Hildebrandt brothers estranged from one another for a while? Seems I read this somewhere. Families are meant to be torn asunder.
