Mitchum Shamwow Diorama
I'm assuming most of you had never expected to see those three words used together. And yet there they are. You see, I have purchased a box of Shamwow, and earlier tonight I realized that--right on the front of the box--there is an illustration that demonstrates how Max Cady could wipe blood stains away from a murder scene in CAPE FEAR. Also, as I am always Googling for more images of Mitch for my other blog, I came across the one from RIVER OF NO RETURN a few days back. Maybe its my having no depth perception, but doesn't this photo look more like a miniature model set, seriously? Probably just me, right? But, tell me Max Cady couldn't have used some Shamwow back in the day...

It's a small world where Bobby the Mitch is concerned! How do you like your shamwow?
I just know I'm going to spend the rest of the day looking for more chances to say, "shamwow"...
I immediately got the thought that it looks like a tiny diarama, even before I read you saying that! Weird.
River Of No Return always gets razzed by the elite movie critics, but I always liked it, maybe just because I like the outdoorsy feel of it.
Max Cady would never have used Shamwow himself. He would have forced his ex-wife into a drunken stupor, stolen her clothes, forced her to pose for pictures doing obscene things with a box of Shamwow, put the pictures in an envelope addressed to her current husband or kid -- THEN have her wipe the bloodstains off with Shamwow (or maybe include a photo of this too in the envelope). I know my Max Cady (1962 version) -- John McDonald's Max Cady never wiped the bloodstains off, either, I don't think. Yick!!!!
